Chris, Paul, anybody else wanna head out on Tuesday afternoon/evening?

Chris and I were thinking it might not be a bad idea if we practiced starts and got everyone familiar with the boat and systems.

The race is coming up very quickly and I'm excited. Hope the weather cooperates.

I have to work until 6:00pm on Tuesday but I would like to get familiar with the boat.

The sailor responds to the subtle shifting of the wind, the imperceptible ebbing of the tide. He changes course. He trims his sheets. He sails.

Hey Al,

I'm out for this afternoon -- this week is gonna be rough for me as we've got a ton of stuff going on. Is there a day next week we can plan on? Giving the wife advanced notice helps enormously

No problem Chris,

I'll be out putzing on the boat later today regardless.

Next week most any afternoon is fine if all keeps going well on our son's house remodel.

Al, not sure what kind of work 'putzing' involves (probably same as me on my boat)... but if you need an extra set of hands, or if there's anything I can do to help out, please feel free to call upon me. If I can make it, I'd be happy to give you an assist.

Was very nice meeting you and your wife last week. Fair winds,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Hope your sail was "warm" enough. I was pretty chilled when Wayne and I made it back to shore.

As I was able to tell you in passing, I managed to finally get the genoa mounted on the furler. We even tried to sail but the wind certainly didn't cooperate.

LOL's! With only one (1) knot of wind, didn't do any sailing. Just had my 7 year old son practise some more steering of the boat, outboard only. When he focuses, he does pretty darned well if I give him a landmark to steer straight at. He doesn't know it yet, but I figure I'll be having him put her into the wind a few times this year while I either douse, or raise the mainsail (me at the mast). Last year, full sail in light air, I could have him on the tiller when I needed to go forward for a minute or two... but again, only if there was a visible 'landmark' that I could tell him to aim straight at.

My mistake last night, Al! Everett (J.F.Gone) was with me, he and my son over at the dingy's. Rushing so much, it didn't even dawn on me to call him over and introduce the two of you. Sorry. ~Gary
