Hi everybody,
My name is Greg (Grzegorz but nobody can pronounce it) originally from Poland, sailed Baltic and Mediterranean sea , and lakes. I just moved to Milwaukee and love this big lake. No boat yet – last few years in East TN didn’t help with sailing - no wind there in the mountains.
I’m hoping for some sailing this year as a crew.
So if you are looking for a crew for this season let me know. Also handy with boat repairs and engines.
Happy Easter.
Greg

Hey Greg (er Grzzzzz)

Welcome to Milwaukee and this site. I'll be out on the lake a bunch this summer and I'm sure the other people on this site will also.

I'm a very new sailor who happens to be pretty old in years but young at heart.

Lots of good people here, welcome aboard.

There is nothing half so worth doing as simply messing about in boats

Welcome aboard and welcome to the area. Our boat is in refit mode till next spring or I would have you on as crew. But since you mention repairs.....

Would love to buy drinks and hear some of your sailing stories from the Baltic. Have you been in the Bay of Biscay? North Sea?

All the best, Everett

Hey Greg!

Welcome to the forum and welcome to Milwaukee. Glad you joined up and said hello. With all the generous and friendly folks here on the forum, I think you'll have no problem getting out on the water. I too am without a boat (hopefully the last season without a boat) and have always been able to find someone to sail with. Also, you might want to check out the sailing center as a membership there gets you out on the water and access to great classes and a whole lot of local sailors. http://www.sailingcenter.org

Welcome and looking forward to meeting you out on the water!

Thank you all for a warm welcome.
I’ve seen sails on the lake last summer, but I was forced to travel so much (engineering job, now laid off), that I didn’t have time to think about it. I hope for better summer this year.
I haven’t sail so far west, only polish coast. I thought that water in Baltic is cold…. I was wrong.
I can help with your boats if you need help, or just meet and talk. Somebody mentioned boat’s smell in spring, I like it too.

The sailor responds to the subtle shifting of the wind, the imperceptible ebbing of the tide. He changes course. He trims his sheets. He sails.

And here's a picture of Greg 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 4
We went out today for a small outing. Maybe two hours? Anyway, pretty sedate winds around 6 knots. Wouldn't normally sail in it but it turned out OK as I checked my rig, met Greg, and got to observe him on the tiller. I pretty much slacked off, played the role of unneccessary rail meat. All in all a pleasant enough outing, though I had thought it was going to be a good 10-12 knots more wind than there actually was. Max wind we received was only 9.2 knots, and that was so (sadly) brief. Anyway, here's introducing Greg.
