Good Day All,
For starters, Everett, please forgive me, I am not trying to take any wind out of your sail. I didn't know any better, and thought that was where i was suppose to post. To everyone that replied to me, I thank you. I want so badly, to learn the ropes of sailing repair, and racing. So if anyone is in need of a good, hard, dedicated crewman, I offer you ME. The biggest boat i have skippered was a 30 some foot scow. Now i realize, I am asking to be a crew mate, but just wanted to give you a little bit of my background. Sadly for me, i am not a huge bar goer, thus my reason for using this forum. Either way I hope to connect with a skipper and get this ball rolling. Have a great day, and I look forward to any replies....

Hey Scott,

Welcome again! No worries.. Forum etiquette is loosely defined and the one consistent theme among sailors seems to me to be a laid back, anything goes attitude. It's just easier to find you when you start your own thread.

I'd also like to learn more boat repair skills. I had planned on getting a dinghy underway to learn some fiber-glassing skills, but the wife won the battle for garage space and I was overruled until we actually purchase a boat for the 2010 season.

Anyway - glad to have you around, and I'm sure anyone owning a boat would be hard pressed to turn down free help. I spent some time last year doing some sanding, taping, cetoling, etc.. Springtime finds many opportunities for prepwork.

Hi Scott and again welcome. No promblems here mate.

You sound alot like me, willing to sand a hull for a sail. Our boat won't splash till next year or we would take you out. Just learning most of the repairs myself so not much advice to pass on.

All the best, Ev
