Hey matt welcome!

How'd you find the site? I run the site and sail as much as possible this summer with a new baby. I'm not a boat owner as of now but hope to have that taken care of for next season. This forum has proved to be a great way to get out on the water and meet some great people. Glad you joined us online and hopefully we'll meet up out on the water!

The sailor responds to the subtle shifting of the wind, the imperceptible ebbing of the tide. He changes course. He trims his sheets. He sails.

Thank you to Wayne, Gary and Chris,

To answer your question, Chris, I found the site when I did a Google search for a particular kind of sailboat. Your group was discussing it on the forum and it came up as a google hit.

I (hopefully soon) will be a "new" boat owner in need of a yard and mooring.

I am glad to see a website for sailors around here.

Great to hear matt.

What kind of boat are you looking for? I'm curious as I'm on the hunt as well.

Good morning, Chris.

I was in the hunt for a good sailing cruiser.

I have an offer in and am in the thick of negotiations. Hence my need for a boatyard and mooring.

The search that I found you guys on was for the boat that was a full keel, cutter rig up in Superior, Wisconsin.

I almost bit on that one.

What are you looking for?

Good luck in your negotiations! You'll have to tell us about it when they are complete. Any advice or experience you have to share would be greatly helpful I'm sure. There are a couple of members here looking for boats.

As for what I'm looking for, it depends on the day of the week. Ideally I think I'd like a Cape Dory 28 or 30 in nice shape. It's racing season though so I start thinking that I'd like something a little faster. A few boats I'd strongly consider are:

Pearson Triton
Alberg 35
Alberg 30
CD 28, 30
Ranger 33
Cal 34, 36

Careful what you wish for. I wnet and looked at the Aquarius in Superior. Great boat, but not enough cockpit for me.

I spent theis past week in western Michigan looking fior boats. I've got it narrowed down to a full on racing C&C27 mark V and a 1961 Rhodes Swiftsure.

Chris: I'll bring you the info on the Swiftsure

There is nothing half so worth doing as simply messing about in boats

Guy and Chris,

Guy, I looked at that Aquarius too. I even discussed an offer, but my research nixed it. She is nice looking though.

I looked at two other boats up there and chose an Ericson 29.

I am now her new owner and she is coming down in a week.

Chris, I liked most of your choices. I stuck my nose into some those myself and did some serious hemming and hawing.
