I was browsing boats between statistics problems on my final exam and came across this little sweetie: http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/11498

Perfect little Lake Michigan boat. She appears in nice shape, a little newer, and a sturdy Cape Dory. Plus, you get a built-in maiden voyage delivering her back to Milwaukee. Just keep dreamin...

There is nothing half so worth doing as simply messing about in boats

would be all the boat you'd ever need. looks in great shape and it's a buyer's market. what better time to buy a boat than in the middle of (another) snow storm.

It's a great looking boat. She would look nice sitting on a mooring down here. The only problem I see would getting the cradle back here.

The sailor responds to the subtle shifting of the wind, the imperceptible ebbing of the tide. He changes course. He trims his sheets. He sails.

Just lash it onto the deck.

Actually it would be pretty cheap to have it motored home, via freight.

Chris, that's a beautiful boat!

I know someone who made that same delivery trip on a newly purchased boat;) Heck the slip looks like it could be in the same marine Tursiops was at.

FWIW: We hauled the cradle home on my utility trailer. Let me know if you need it:)

Did you pick it up from Sandusky? For some reason I thought you had gotten yours in Detroit. How long did that trip take you again?

The wife seems mildly impressed by the pictures of the boat... The stars would have to align just right, but the wife agreed that if it's still around at the end of the year that we could probably make a move for it... Either way, at least she's not saying "someday" anymore.

Hey Chris,

Ours was actually in a marina on the west end of Lake Erie where the Detroit River empties into Erie. If I remember correctly Sandusky is South SouthEast from there.

The city was Gibralter Michigan. I think the spelling is correct.

We left late on Tuesday and made Manitowoc early Saturday Morning. Had perfect weather but going 24hrs/day with only two on board was tiring. Two hour watches day and night.

It's fantastic that you've made great progress with the boss!!!!!! Now its only a matter of time!

I've got a flat bed trailer you could use to get the cradle.
