Chipping ice from the bilge? Do you live aboard? I think this is the least likely day I'd say.. "I'm gonna go work on the boat" Hat's off to you for your dedication! Good luck! Look forward to chatting more with you.

We won't live aboard till Sept 2012 though we spend a few nights aboard in summer.

It is a story involving bad pumps, bad boards, a bad pet coon, and an excellent trip to Norway but it ends in having a skating rink in our boat. All I could think about was how much pressure the ice would put on everything as the temp dropped even more. I also just plain felt bad for letting it happen to begin w/ and had to get out what I could. It was more fun than fighting the snow blower that never did start and the chainsaw that ran like crap. Hiding inside today.

Somehow I think this story there almost deserves it's own thread...a trip to Norway that ends in a skating rink? We need details, my man. I googled that beer (Bokol?)and my guess is that it's Norwegian? You have more to pass around?

You are correct. Unfortunately it was the only one I had and it was gone before the picture was in the pc. It is brewed by Mack which is the northernmost brewery in the world. Good industrial beer similar to Molson.

I do have; 1- Hansa Juleol (x-mas beer)and 1- Porter from Nøgne Ø and 1- Porter from HaandBryggeriet. The last two independently rated as follows based on an overview of 320 ratings of Norge beers (unfortunately not me):

"Nøgne Ø and Haandbryggeriet take the first two spots, just as they did in 2006, and in my opinion (which I think is generally shared) this is entirely right. The gap between them has closed a little, which is also fair, given that Haandbryggeriet has both improved their beers and started brewing more adventurous beers."

I took a mix of 12 Wisconsin beers hoping to trade but that didn't happen. At the equivalent of $9.00 a bottle I tried a few there and only brought 6 home. The WI beers were well accepted w/ the new Lienie's Fireside Nut Brown being the women's favorite. They want more and trade talks continue.

I plan on sharing the Porters so who knows maybe we could get together in the big city for a tasting. Also brought home some Aquavit.

Yes folks I am bored today. Watching Cetol dry only goes so far.

I'm envious. Watching Cetol dry and drinking beer beats the living hell out of what I'm doing at the moment. Deciphering state mandated insurance rules and translating them into computer logic, as I've been doing for the last 6 months... It was novel in the beginning, but is starting to wear thin on my nerves. I find excesses in both the desire for states to create rules and regulations and insurance companies to create complicated ways to handle them and make sure nobody can understand how you get a premium value. Legislators love to make rules and insurance companies love to make money. I'm at the mercy of their respective ravenous appetites for these.

Well said and I think we all are a bit. It does have to suck to stare it in the face all day. More than I could take. Hope you get today off.

Being able to mess w/ Cetol and bitch at my slow dial-up is nice but basically just a trade for hours worked last season.

Cheers
