I thought this picture was great. I found it somewhere reading an account of the Shackleton's sail to South Georgia. I think this photo was taken when launched from Elephant Island, but I'm not positive on that. For those of you who haven't heard of the Endurance, it's definitely a story worth checking out. This picture was taken before they sailed this modified lifeboat through some of the roughest waters in the world, 800 miles to South Georgia Island long before EPIRB's and helicopter rescue.
